About Me

I’m a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW) and Trauma-Trained Therapist based out of Vaughan with over 15 years of experience providing treatment in private practice and hospitals (i.e., Women's College Hospital & the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health). My area of focus involves PTSD, Complex Trauma, Dissociation, Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, Addiction, Relationship Issues and Attachment Trauma.

I have a BA (Hons.) degree and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Adult Mental Health and Addiction Studies. I am an accredited member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, The Alberta College of Social Workers, and the Association of Ontario Social Workers (OASW).

As an integrative therapist I draw from several evidence-based approaches to meet your unique characteristics, preferences, needs and goals. I know one treatment doesn’t work for all individuals, problems, and contexts. I look at the ‘whole’ person. This also means I seek to promote wellness in all areas of life - mind, body, brain, emotions, behavior, relationships— while attempting to help you understand and address how issues in one aspect can lead to concerns in other areas. In short, ‘Integrative Psychotherapy’ allows me to be flexible, inclusive, and holistic.

Specifically, I incorporate elements from the following treatment approaches into unique treatment plans to help individuals overcome trauma and other challenges and thrive: EMDR, IFS, Structural Dissociation, Relational Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, CBT, DBT, Somatic Practices, Concurrent Disorders Treatment, and Self-Compassion. I am passionate about and committed to on-going professional development, and so I stay up to date in research and best practices for mind-body based psychotherapies, so that I can provide you with the best in mental health care. Also, not only is my practice trauma informed, but it is also strength based, culturally sensitive, LBGTQ+ supportive, and anti-oppressive.

Last, I have had my own share of trials and tribulations. I know suffering, but I also know that it has led me to profound personal growth. I wouldn’t be who I am without it and more importantly, I wouldn’t want to be anyone else. While trauma and adversity can be painful and cause us to feel hopeless, overwhelmed and stuck, it can also come with profound positive outcomes (e.g., it can give us a greater sense of personal strength, new priorities, closer relationships, an increased appreciation of life, and heightened spirituality). It would be my pleasure to accompany you on your unique journey towards true transformation.

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved .”
